Educational and Professional Background Jeremy C. Kennedy is a 1999 graduate of the University of Michigan. As an undergrad, Jeremy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in English. Jeremy graduated with an Honors degree in Political Science for his research on the interplay between the legal system and the administrative process and how that interplay reflects the theoretic traditions of American democracy. In December of 2001, he graduated from the University of Michigan Law School with his Juris Doctorate and shortly after began working for Angelo A. Plakas and Associates, P.C. While in law school, Jeremy took part in the Michigan Criminal Law Clinic, where he played an integral role in securing a new trial for a woman who was unfairly convicted almost ten years ago. Prior to working for Angelo A. Plakas and Associates, Jeremy worked as a law clerk for Siemens Electrocom L.P., a division of the German consortium Siemens AG. While working for Siemens, Jeremy gained experience in corporate law, construction law, employment law, among other areas. Since beginning work at Angelo A. Plakas and Associates, Jeremy has primarily handled municipal law, real estate, criminal defense work, contract litigation, and employment law. He also handles most of the trademark and copyright cases in the office and is legal counsel for Nankin Transit Commission, a transportation commission created through an interlocal agreement between the cities of Westland, Wayne, Inkster and Garden City which provides low-cost transportation for the elderly and handicapped.
